Domestic consumption of functional apparel continues to expand in 2026. The lightweight outdoor consumer group has reached 500 million, and the outdoor footwear and apparel market maintains a 15% compound annual growth rate. Urban commuting has become the top application scenario for functional apparel. More and more consumers are willing to pay a premium prices for high-value-added fabrics such as breathable and antibacterial, abrasion-resistant and windproof, and bio-based eco-friendly options. End-use brands are seeing rapidly growing demand for high-performance innovative fabrics.
However, there is still an information gap between upstream material innovations and downstream brands, making it difficult for quality new materials to reach the market efficiently. This Functional Textiles Innovation Matchmaking Event aims to connect cutting-edge fabric technologies with end-product development needs. It serves as an inspiration hub for brands and an efficient commercial channel for suppliers to reach downstream buyers.

With Function × Innovation as its core topic, the matchmaking event focuses on technological advancement and commercial application of high-performance fabrics. It covers key products development trends including lightweight insulation, waterproof & down-proof, moisture-wicking breathability, natural comfort and bio-based materials, bridging the gap between fabric development and finished product application.
The 250 exhibitors from Functional Textiles Shanghai will present their innovative products in rotation across the two days. Each exhibitor will bring their most carefully selected innovations. For brand visitors, this means shorter walking routes, more targeted exhibitors and higher-density productive conversations.
Exhibits across the two days will focus on the most sought-after functional fabric technologies of the season.

All participating exhibitors are confirmed participants of the Functional Textiles Shanghai on November 18-19. They cover categories including high-performance fabrics, trims, fleece, down, wool, insulation, functional yarns and materials, showcasing their selected innovations. The exhibitor line-up differs each day, and the full list will be announced in a follow-up post.
